Sunday June 8 9am-12pm at Marine Park
Charles Dennis will lead a kayak expedition to explore the recently restored natural habitat around White Island which is located in middle of Gerritsen Inlet in Marine Park, Brooklyn. We will begin our adventure by circumnavigating the island, observing its shoreline. Later we will go ashore at Marine Park and begin a creative and meditative process which will include writing in journals, taking pictures, and eventually performing site-specific movement and text improvisations that will be captured on video. Following the workshop Charles Dennis will produce a short video about the experience, using video recorded from the expedition.
Kayaks will be available for participants to rent or use depending on availability. Particpants can also bring and use their own kayak. Attendance is limited to 10 people, dependent upon kayak availability.
