The ONE°15 Brooklyn Marina Parade of Boats kicks off the Waterfront Alliance’s annual Heroes of the Harbor award gala held at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers on Pier 61 on the Hudson River. The public is cordially invited to a free, narrated viewing of this marvelous and exciting flotilla at Pier 62 in Hudson River Park (accessible by crossing West Street at 22nd or 23rd Streets, a short walk from the C and E train at the 23rd St. station).
A narrator with a public address system will entertain the audience with details and stories about the passing vessels, which are of every possible description and size, ranging ranging from large commercial vessels, tugs, sightseeing craft, fire boat, sailboats, to kayaks and outriggers. We anticipate upwards of two dozen boats participating in this year’s parade. There will be a Waterfront Alliance information and greeting table at Pier 62. The parade is held rain or shine, so dress appropriately— and don’t forget your cameras and binoculars!
