About

iLANDing is a method to make a method
[that you don’t yet know]
for working with people
[that you also might not know]
across disciplines

iLANDing is being developed out of ongoing conversations between members of the iLAND Board of Directors and past iLAB residents as a means to articulate a framework for talking about and sharing the cross-disciplinary collaborative work supported by iLAND.  This website is a beta version of an online space for iLAND community members to share their research, collaborative experiences and resources.

iLAND (Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Art, Nature and Dance) is a dance research organization that investigates the power of dance, in collaboration with other fields, to illuminate our kinetic understanding of the world.

Since 2006, the iLAB residency program has created opportunities for movement-based artists, scientists, environmentalists, architects and others to develop creative collaborative processes that engage ecologies in a range of sites in and around New York City. Other programs include an annual iLAND Symposium that addresses issues of art and environment and iLANDing, a methodology for cross-disciplinary collaboration, as well as the artistic projects of Artistic Director Jennifer Monson.
